Thorntons Valentines Day’s Competition Promotion Terms and Conditions

1. By entering this prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions governing this promotion and by any other requirements set out in related promotional materials.
2. The prize draw is only open to United Kingdom residents, 18 years of age or above at the time of entry. The Promotion is not open to employees and immediate families of the Promoter, its agents or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion.
3. The Promotion will begin from 00:00 on 23rd of January 2025 and will end at 23:59 on 14th of February 2025 (“Promotion Period”).
4. How to enter: To be entered into the competition, sign up to the Thorntons Newsletter when prompted to do so by entering the following information: first name and email address. Existing newsletter subscribers will be sent an email advising them that they will automatically be signed up to the competition but have the option to opt out by responding to the email. Subscribers, whether newly signed up or already on our mailing list, will automatically get an additional entry If they make a purchase of £15 or more on the Thorntons website. Each qualifying transaction on the Thorntons website will count as one single entry.
5. Multiple entries are allowed.
6. One prize per person and per household throughout the whole Promotional Period.
7. Internet access required.
8. Prizes: there is one (1) Prize available to be won during the Promotional Period. The Prize consist of a 2-night stay at the Landale Hotel & Spa (The Langdale Estate, Great Langdale, Ambleside LA22 9JD) for the winner and one guest which will include the following:


• Accommodation in the Cosy Lakeland Signature Room (single room for both winner and guest);
• Full breakfast for the winner and their guest;
• 2-hour access to Brimstone Spa per person during the stay;
• One (1) 50-minute massage per person for the winner and their guest;
• 3-course set dinner on both evenings (excluding drinks) for the winner and their guest;
• £100 travel allowance (£50 per person) for the winner and their guest.


9. Prize Details and Conditions:
1. A travel budget of £50 per person will be allocated to the Prize winners and their guest. Winners will be responsible for arranging their own travel. Any travel costs over the £50 limit shall be borne by the winners and their guest.
2. Unless specific rules state otherwise, winners and guest will be responsible for all ancillary expenses in relation to the Prize which aren’t expressly included.
3. Winners and guest must be 18 or above years of age.
4. Winners and guest acknowledge that this Prize is subject to the terms and conditions of Ferrero and Landale Hotel & Spa
5. The prize is redeemable on any day of the year including weekdays and weekends except for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day and Bank Holidays.
6. The Prize is valid until 30th March 2026.
10. Winner selection: The winners will be selected at random from all valid entries received throughout the Promotion Period. The winners will be contacted via email or phone number provided upon entry, within 7 business days from the end of the Promotional Period and will be asked to provide evidence of identity and eligibility. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners. Winners will then have 5 business days to respond and confirm acceptance of the Prize. If the winners do not respond to the Promoter within this time, they will forfeit their Prize and the Promoter shall select other winner(s) at random from all remaining valid entries.
11. Winners will be contacted within 7 business days following the end of the Promotional Period and will be asked to provide their preferred dates for the reservation of their stay. Winners may amend their reservation up to 3 times, provided they give at least 7 business days’ notice before the reservation date.
12. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding in all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.
13. Provided no objection is received from the winners, a winners list containing the surname and county of residence of the winners will be made available by the Promoter 4 weeks after the close of the Promotion Period, for a period of 8 weeks. It will be available by sending a request via email to Data.PrivacyUK@ferrero.com. The winners can object to their details being published by emailing Data.PrivacyUK@ferrero.com. Without prejudice, the Promoter will provide winner information to the Advertising Standards Authority when requested by them.
14. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise.
15. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize (including to any guests), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
16. The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of compensation, this also includes the selling of prizes to third parties. In the event for any reason the prize winners do not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winners and neither cash nor any other form of compensation will be supplied in lieu of that element of the prize. If for any reason a prize is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another prize for it, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value.
17. The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in any way for the inability to meet delivery timeframes in the event of any national or local lockdowns, or any circumstances resulting from Covid-19 affecting the prize delivery supply chain. Should Covid-19 affect the ability to meet these deadlines, the Promoter will fulfil its obligations as soon as it is reasonably possible.
18. If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion, or invalidate any affected entries.
19. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the promotion or accepting the prize. The Promoter further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with this promotion.
20. The Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this promotion with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of the Promoter in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
21. If a winning entry from a draw is deemed not to comply with any of these conditions of entry, that entry will be discarded, and a new winner of the prize will be randomly selected.
22. Any entries that the Promoter considers in their absolute discretion to be dangerous, vulgar, offensive, indecent, illegal, or fraudulent will be disqualified from this Promotion.
23. These terms and conditions are governed by English Law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
24. The Promoter is required to either publish or make available information that indicates a valid award took place. As such, the Promoter will send the surname and county of major Prize winners to anyone that contacts the Promoter at the address provided no later than 28 days after the end of the promotion.
25. By entering this Promotion, you give the Promoter and its agencies your consent to process your personal data for the purpose of conducting this promotion only and in its accordance with its privacy policy which can be found at: https://www.thorntons.com/uk/en/privacy-policy. The Promoter may disclose winners’ personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this promotion, fulfilling the prize, or communicating with entrants.
